MAX series - German as a foreign language for children

written by experienced teachers in co-operation with German native speaking editors. Vocabulary has been adjusted not only to the age of the target group, but also to the lifestyle of children living outside Germany. The audiotapes are full of various exercises, rhyming games and songs recorded exclusively by native speakers. The content of each volume corresponds to school year with a three-class-per-week intensity, i.e. approx. 100 classes yearly. The publications are monolingual except for the instructions and tips, which are bilingual.

The first two parts of the Max edition were developed particularly for pupils of the 1st stage of elementary schools who start learning German. All language skills are practised with a special emphasis on the phonetic part of the language. Important parts of the textbook are two audiocassettes with many exercises, rhymes and songs that are recorded by native speakers. The range of both parts always corresponds to one school year with three classes per week, i.e. approx. 100 hours.
The book is monolingual with the exception of instructions to exercises and tips that are bilingual.

German as a foreign language for the age group of 11 - 14 years

The Max edition continues with other three parts (Spaß mit Max 1, 2, 3) for the 2nd stage of elementary school.
In Spaß mit Max the subject matter is divided into eight wholes and more attention is given to the written form of German language and grammar but communicative skills are still in the limelight. The integration of German language with other subjects is implemented by numerous references in each whole and arouses a great motivation for pupils. The range of Spaß mit Max 1-3 is ca. 400 hours.
