The modern monolingual course evolved from the cooperation with Goethe Institut and is aimed at students of colleges and universities who study German as a supplementary subject. To work effectively with the book, the authors assume the entrance knowledge of German language at B1 level according to the Common European Framework for Languages. The final level should be C1, i.e. the book can be recommended to all schools where students are being prepared for the Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (KDS) or Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP). The course does not include professional language but it helps students use everyday language necessary for all professions. The stress is put on independent learning, team work, creativity, text reading strategies, listening, i.e. on all skills the students will need in their future professional life.

The course book includes four main thematic units:

• Hochschulen und Universitäten (Studium bzw. Praktikum im Ausland - Bewerbung, konkrete Quellen)
• Integrationsprozess Europa (historischer Überblick, die europäischen Organe, Euregios, usw.)
• Zukunftsperspektiven und Zukunftstechnologien (Umweltproblematik, Energiequellen der Zukunft, Informations- und Kommunikationsprozesse)
• Der Gemeinsame Europäische Referenzrahmen für Sprachen (Aufgaben zu verschiedenen Kann-Beschreibungen).
