Target group: students of secondary schools and language courses, adults and anybody interested in literature

The books are all similarly structured: the primary focus is regional, the authors from one country are presented together. Within the regions, literature is presented chronologically. The chapters start with brief descriptions of the given period and/or literary movements (except the English version, which is based purely around individual authors). Next follow portraits of important writers, including accounts of their lives as well as their major works. Extracts from works of explained writers, e.g. poems, fiction books or plays, are also included. Possibly unknown and old-fashioned vocabulary or grammatical structures are explained.
