• contains information and knowledge of the "Člověk a jeho svět" subject (Human World) taught in the 1st to 3rd grade as well as selected cross-curricular topics (průřezová témata) and parts emphasizing key competences,
• contains traditional, proven chapters as well as innovative themes reflecting the changes brought about by the school reform in progress,
• enables development of all key competences and coverage of all the cross-curricular topics of the Framework Basic Education Programme in combination with other courses of Fraus Publishing for elementary schools (ie the Czech Language and Mathematics).

Elementary Social Sciences
• continues in the Elementary Science course,
• contains information and knowledge of the "Člověk a jeho svět" subject taught in the 4th and 5th grade in the areas of humanities and social sciences
• stresses the children's activity and development of practical skills,
• emphasizes tasks that continuously develop the capability to observe, record and sort information while the encyclopaedic summaries play a secondary role,
• is closely connected with the Příroda textbook (Nature/Elementary Biology for 4th and 5th grade). Both textbooks contain the same topics viewed from various angles and with various stresses which enable to use them for project-based learning.

Nature/Elementary Biology
• continues in the Elementary Science course,
• contains information and knowledge of the "Člověk a jeho svět" subject taught in the 4th and 5th grade in the area of natural sciences
• leads pupils to active learning about the Nature and natural regularities especially based on observations and experiments
• emphasizes especially understanding of relations and connections both in the animate and inanimate nature
• develops skills necessary for learning about the nature
